The goal of this backpacker trip, is to know the inside of an unknown and full of contrast country as it´s Morocco. To know both it´s surprising landscapes, where we can see our self in the middle of a sand dessert, in a forest around waterfalls, hiking the highest point of North Africa full of snow, or learning their people, the Berber, their culture, customs and their life living ways.
An intesive trip of sensations, smells and experiences that we will never forget.
Let´s live a backpacker trekking experience! Are you coming with us?
We should be warned to enjoy the place that we will be visitng, as if we don´t know where we are going we could have a bad experience.
Morocco and the Berber villages are incredible places but very different from what we are used to and their ways of life or act could surprise or shocked us.
In the country there are many differences between their people and their cities with all luxuries such as electricity, clear water, toilets, roads, infraestructures. But the most really interesting in happening in the other side. Villages with no electricity where they offer you all they have, where children run barefoot and they play with a hose. A place without sidewalks, roads, where donkeys will passed us while we do all our best not to have a dung under our feet and many extrange situations like this. 😉
Except cities as Marrakech, you can see that it´s not going to be any luxury trip since it consists of learning to live with and be tolerant of differences. So we need to be clear where we are ggoing and what we will experience. We assure you will be surprised!!
An unforgetable experience for sure!!

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT:
CLOTHES:
We´ll need to take comfortable and sporty clothes (trekking pants, technical/breathable T-shirts) for the days that we´ll be at Berber villages or Marrakech. However for the hiking to the Toubkal it will be much colder as it will mostly probably it will be snow and temperature will probably be under 0 degrees. For this we wil need mountain waterproof boots (preferibly with Goretex), waterproof and warm pants, termic underwear, polars, leggins and shirts, mountain jacket, windstopper, feader or synthetic jacket, gloves, winter hat, necklwear, anything for the cold!!
BACKPACKS:
It can weight as much as is allowed for you to carry it on your flight as during the trekking days we will just carry a small backpack with space for water, any jacket, camera, suncream… The rest of our luggage will be taken by our muleteers or by car. Anyway, trolleys are not reccommended as they are not confortable to take on the donkeys.
HYGIENIC PRODUCTS:
In some places where we will be we won´t have much water and we overvalue being showered!! Because of the conditions that we will have we suggest to take hygienic towels, soap, deodorant and different ways of selfcleaning.
MEDICINE CHEST: We will bring a medicine and a first aid kit for little injuries, bites… but as we are not allowed to give any medicine nor pills, we reccommend you to bring with your main medicines for headaches, muscular pains, stomach upsets, for rubbes...
PASSPORT: check you own conditions to enter the countru as it will be checked when travelling to Morocco.
MONEY:
In the cities we will be able to pay in € but it´s better to use dirhams as it will be cheaper for buying small things such as water, juices… In the same airport or Marrakech you will find many exchange houses and ATMs. Remember that you can also bring it already exchanged.
VARIETIES:
Without doubt we should always have to bring a camera with us. A headlight will also be very helpful for the early departing trekkings or refuge nights as it´s bateries. Walking steaks are always helpful as they will help us save some energy. And of course a warm sleeping bag.
In the Toubkal hiking we will surely need to use crampons due to the snow. You can bring your own ones, or you can also hire them in the village which it won´t be expensive.
